Operation Safe Winter

Postby righteous » Wed Dec 09, 2015 12:26 pm

Please watch this video about a small group of people who created an OpSafeWinter in the UK in 2014: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkXnIeJ ... e=youtu.be

All these people did was organize and advertise. Society did the rest. I see people come on this web site every week asking, can there be an operation where I live? Can I get information about an operation where I live?

I tell them you have not heard of an operation where you live because no one is doing it yet. A wise man once said "be the change you wish to see in the world." So many people would like to see more of the events like we see in the videos, but few actually go out and do them. Go out an organize a homeless rally of your own this winter. It does not have to be for Anonymous. I have talked to several Anons over the weeks whom are planning rallies but instead of for homeless for Veterans in America. Whatever you do, it feels nice to do nice things. More people just need to become engaged.

Tips For How To Organize One Of Your Own

AnonHQ has published a few stories in the last few week related to Operation Safe Winter, but we will get into that later on in the post. One thing that no one has reported on is how to set up and organize an operation of your own. This is more simple then you ever might expect. Operation Safe Winter is just a food and clothing drive for homeless, veteran, elderly, migrants, et cetera.

Social public rally's like this are some of the easiest events to coordinate. All you have to do for something like this is make many flyers, hang them at schools, day cares, or in any high foot traffic areas such as cafe's, college campuses, restaurants et cetera. Ask store owners if you can put up a flyer up in their store. I think you will find most every business owner receptive to promoting a local food and clothing drive in their stores. Drop a flyer off at your local fire house and police department while you are at is as well.

As for advertising in the media you might also find this easier then you imagine. Send out emails to all your local news agencies, news papers, television stations and ask them if they would be willing to share your story. You can also do this with local radio stations and almost every city has its own online political web site for things such as this. If the news people do not respond right away keep sending them messages leading up to the date of the event.

What information should you include on the flyer and emails to media sources?

Set a date and time for the event. Include an email or phone number where people can coordinate if they would like to help. Define the purpose of the rally - to gather food and supply's for those people who are most vulnerable in society. Be creative and colorful, just be specific about the goal/purpose of the event.

One of the most important things we would like to convey here is that you do not have to do an Operation Safe Winter as part of Anonymous. Anonymous is just an idea, Operation Safe winter is just an idea. If Anonymous inspires you to go out an achieve a food/clothing drive on your own, completely independent of any Anonymous affiliation, that is awesome all the same. It feels good to do nice things. With just a little time and effort you can organize an OpSafeWinter and make a positive impact where you live.

Nothing that I have heard of, but I am sure in a large city area if you got radio stations involved and posted flyers for a date it could be big in high population area like Atlanta.

Care to share how you went about collective what you have so far?

Hello,

I would like to share my OPSafeWinter experience. I started out by asking several Krogers, if i could put a box somewhere in their store. I put a sign on it saying.
"OPSafeWinter, Please help us give back to the community by donating, Blankets, tents, can openers, canned foods, socks and clothes to help us make sure the homeless are warm and fed. Anything you could give would be appreciated."
When i came back 2 days later the box was almost half full. i was so happy to see the community come together. so after a week, i grabbed the supplies and first handed out some items to local homeless people. i live in a semi small town so there wasn't many homeless people. I then went over to Cincinnati. and started giving items to the homeless there. it was so amazing when someone saw me giving them the clothes and stuff he asked me if he could help me give some stuff away and before i knew it. i had 4 people helping me give stuff to these homeless people. i brought tears to my eyes knowing there was people out there willing to help. some people offered to help but then saw that i had my Anonymous T-shirt on that had #OpSafeWinter on it. But other than that it was a great day. I had a couple people who was shocked that Anonymous did stuff to help the community. Most of them through Anonymous is a Terrorist group but after they saw what we was doing a lot of them apologized for thinking that. I had a blast helping and as soon as i can i will be back out there helping even more. but next time i will take some photos or even record some of it so my fellow anons can see the look on their faces. It brings me to tears when they feel loved. i can really see it in their eyes.

That was my OpSafeWinter Story. Thank you all for a great Operation. I look forward to seeing what comes next. You can find me on Anonboards.com my display name is AnonymousAgency2k15. I'm also with Lulzsec.
